Habakkuk 2:2-3 “And the LORD answered me, and said, WRITE the VISION, and make it PLAIN upon tables, that he may RUN that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an APPOINTED TIME, but at the end, it SHALL SPEAK, and not lie: though it tarries, WAIT for it; because it will SURELY come, it will NOT tarry.”
We had been discussing our plans for 2024 but paused it some time ago. Well, the Lord has brought it up with these verses.
WRITE the VISION, and make it PLAIN upon tables, that he may RUN that readeth it.
Let us endeavor to have our vision for 2024 written out – it helps you to run with it, that is, to implement it.
We have seen that 2024 is NOT about us but about the Lord Himself. God has His purpose and plan for 2024 and you have your peculiar place in that purpose.
God needs workers in the vineyard. He’s counting on you as one of them. So, present your body as a living sacrifice unto Him. Take care of your health, safety, and security so that you will be at your best to serve Him. Therefore, in 2024, as a service to God, avoid unsafe places and practices. Be fit, be RED – Rest (enough sleep and recreation), Exercise, Diet (adequate diet).
As part of your presentation to God, make your intellect available to Him – be ten times better than your colleagues, as Daniel was. Present Him your skills as Aholiab and Bezaleel did in building the Tabernacle in the wilderness. Be a skilled professional. If you don’t have skills, then plan to get them in 2024 as unto the Lord. Get certified, chartered, and experienced.
God wants souls to be saved, so He’s counting on you to do your part at home (family), in the marketplace (unobtrusively), in professional circles, neighborhood, in the educational environment, in the financial space, and other places.
How many souls do you plan to win for the Lord in 2024? How will you go about it? Write them down.
3 For the vision is yet for an APPOINTED TIME… Let your vision have a time element. To everything let there be time. You must know your objectives for January, those for the first quarter, those for midyear, and ultimately those you must accomplish by December 31. You should cost them too.
But at the end it SHALL SPEAK, and not lie: If your plan doesn’t produce results, then it is a lie. If you have been reading the Bible consistently on this platform, you will have several results already. In 2024, you should have something to show for your journey through the year.
Though it tarry, WAIT for it; Getting results is not a sprint, it is a marathon. When we started this Bible reading voyage, we were told s that it was a marathon and we should brace up for it. So many people who started with us have opted out or relaxed but many people have been reading the Bible consistently. Make up your mind to achieve a lot next year. Write down what you wish to achieve.
You need to monitor yourself along the way so you don’t lose track of your progress. On this platform, our monitoring system is to embed you in a study group where you can report your progress daily. Everybody there knows where they are exactly. To help us, we tell you what day it is. The passage for today is for Day 311. If you’re still at Day 308, you know exactly what you must do to catch up. Periodically, we also report how many books, and chapters we have read and how many chapters are remaining.
Because it will SURELY come, it will NOT tarry. If you’re consistent in your implementation of your various objectives next year, by God’s grace, they will surely come.
