Growing or Slowing?
Many Christians think being born again is the final bus stop of the Christian faith, not knowing that it is the starting point. Growth is enjoined in 1 Peter 2:2 “As new-born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, *that you may grow thereby.” 2 Peter 3:18 we are encouraged to ‘grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.’
Our knowledge of Christ must grow, not slow. Don’t be a stunted Christian. In Colossians 1:10, we are encouraged to “walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and *increasing in the knowledge of God; also in Colossians 1:9, we are to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
In Hebrews 5:12 there is a reprove: “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God.”
Ephesians 4:13,15 sets the final target for us: till we *all* come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, *to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ*; 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may *grow up* in *all things into Him who is the Head Christ*
How shall they grow without Teachers? The Great Commission is not only about preaching, it is about teaching and healing as well. We are to *teach the nations everything that the Lord has taught us- the whole counsel of God- until Christ is fully formed in them*
