Is going to church not enough? See. I was baptized and confirmed, do they not count? I am active in my local church, is that not okay? I keep the Ten Commandments, is that not sufficient?
A rich man once told Jesus that he kept all the commandments from his youths but Jesus told him that was not enough.
Sin is very damning and all our efforts cannot take sin away. The Holy Bible says in Jeremiah 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before Me, saith the Lord God. It also tells us in Jeremiah 13:23 that “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.”. In Isaiah 64:6 we read: But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Psalm 39:5 declares that verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.
So you see that we cannot help ourselves. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:; 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation is through Jesus Christ, the only Saviour: Indeed, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
We implore you to call on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you now. Jesus says him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

Eternal God, I confess my helplessness before you. I admit that I have sinned against You and have no worthiness of my own. Please, Lord, have mercy on me and forgive all my trespasses and transgressions. Let the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse me from all my sins and their consequences. Bring me out of the control of satan to the control of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Make me a brand new person inside. Write my name in the Book of Life.
